This is that special time of year where we reach out to all of our love ones and friends. Maybe you call and talk to your old friend from college or your distant cousin who you keep seeing at parties, but never spoke to. There is something about the holidays that brings people together. From exchanging gifts to holiday meals, everyone shares in the joy and love. You send out your usually run of greeting cards and begin or finish decorating your home. There is always a small piece of you that wants to have the best decorations in the neighborhood. Then there is the toughest decision of all: whether to put up color lights or white lights! It sounds funny but, it really can be a tough decision and it does affect how you decorate. Be sure to help those you care about make the holidays that much more memorable.

One of the most important parts of the holidays is the sharing. We share our time, delicious recipes, and our love with everyone. You talk about how crazy it was to get all of your holiday shopping done, or maybe how you are rushing to get those last-minute gifts. The insane lines you had to wait in on Black Friday to get those special deals. Also you may share with others that one recipe that you have been waiting to use, but never got around to it. No matter what you do you or someone close to you, opens their home to others and celebrate the relationships we have and they relationships that are yet to happen. So make sure you bring your best dessert, entrée, or appetizer to the party and share with everyone what you love to eat.

Regardless of what holiday you celebrate, we all are happy to be together and share our joy for what is important to us. On behalf of the staff here at Bon Cuisine, we want to wish all of you a safe and joyful holiday season and a great new year!

Anytime you have a group of friends or family with you, anticipation always builds for all the fun everyone is about to have. From holidays to graduations, there are several events that bring people together. One of the biggest dilemmas most face is….what to make! You have all of these guests at your house and it is crunch time to try and come up with the best food possible. Sometimes you can plan ahead, but that is not always the case. There is nothing like the last-minute, let’s round up everyone, type of together. So you are panicking, grabbing all of your cookbooks, rushing online to find that right recipe. Then you find that old recipe that was stashed in-between the Rice Pudding and Chicken Cordon Bleu. Of course, it was folded up so you couldn’t find it.

Okay so now you have that “golden” recipe and you grab all your ingredients. Then you really start putting together all of your ingredients….but wait! You forgot about the fact that you have a bunch of friends and family in the other room. So you take a break and decide to play host for a while. Then you run back to the kitchen to prepare the big meal. Now you are in the zone, nothing is going to stop you from cooking. All of a sudden, you over hear one of your friends talking about how they were starving! A sudden feeling of worry hits you and you start thinking about what you can do to “save the day”. After much deliberation, you remember that you have some great frozen appetizers still in the freezer. In about 15 minutes you place all of the items on a nice platter and serve your guests. Congratulations, you have just saved the day! This was all made possible by always having a very handy box of frozen appetizers in your freezer. Just like a fireman’s axe in the famous “Break in Case of Emergency” glass box, your frozen appetizers are always available no matter the situation, emergency or not.

This is what makes frozen appetizers so great!

It’s almost that time of the year again!

It’s Thanksgiving time when Family and friends get together to have some fun.

Let you and yours celebrate this festive feast of foods by trying our New Bon Cuisine appetizers. Our staff have come together to bring you some helping tips for the big meal.

Things you will need

Guest list

Menu

Turkey

Table settings

Bon Cuisine products

Two Weeks before Thanksgiving

Make a guest list. If Thanksgiving is a family tradition, you probably already know who will be attending, but a phone call to confirm any additional guests will help you prepare enough food.

Create a drink and Thanksgiving appetizers menu.

Finalize the menu for your main course.

Buy or order your turkey. You will want to make sure you do this ahead of time so you can get a turkey big enough for all of your guests.

One Week before Thanksgiving

Decide if your table area is big enough to accommodate your guests. If it is too small, consider a kid’s table for the children, or borrowing a folding table from family or friends. Once you put a table cloth on it, it will look just fine.

Polish up the silverware and wash the china and glasses. (If using special dishware)

Check your menu to make and sure you have enough serving spoons, serving and baking dishes.

Wash your napkins and tablecloths. Or have on hand paper napkins for the children if any.

Thanksgiving Week

Defrost the turkey in the refrigerator. This will take a few days, so pull it from the freezer on Monday or Tuesday.

Buy or make a centerpiece for the table nothing huge something small and elegant.

Prepare a shopping list and buy all the items needed to prepare your meal.

Prepare or make any desserts or items that can be made ahead of time.

Don’t forget your vegetables!

Set the table the night before Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day

Prepare and cook the turkey. Cooking time is approximately 20 minutes per pound.

Make the rest of your side dishes and reheat those already prepared.

Make sure to have plenty of Bon Cuisine appetizers

Accept help from your guests.
